Double or Nothing Sit and Go’s on Stars

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , on February 17, 2009 by 7deuce

I don’t know how long they have been offering them, but Poker Stars has an intriguing new Sit and Go option.  They call them Double or Nothing, the top 5 players out of 10 will win double their buy in, instead of the top three dividing based on rank.

I received a whopping $5 from Poker Stars for an account I opened but never used (I’ve been playing Full Tilt mostly), and I’ve decided to see how far I can build that $5 by only playing these Double or Nothings, after 3 tourneys I’m 2-1 with a net profit of .55

Let’s see how it goes! If you want to see my Sharkscope stats the username is 7deuce.net

Oh and I’d love to see some comments on what you all think about these new Sit and Goes…

Golden Arch Poker Star Ratings…

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , on February 10, 2009 by 7deuce

I am very confused, Golden Arch has this system of rating players using stars.

Up to three Bronze stars = a pretty decent player

Up to three Silver Stars= a good player

Up to three Gold Stars= a really good player.

Here is why I’m confused, I’ve sharkscoped just about every player play against in the sit and goes and most of the 3 gold star players I’ve checked have horrible stats.  One tonight has a -13% ROI and one 3 bronze star player is labele a Fish with a -29% ROI

It seems to me either these guys are crushing the cash games enough to counteract their horrible Tourny play, or the Star System is very very flawed.

Has any one else noticed this?

Day three time for a freeroll….

Posted in Poker on February 7, 2009 by 7deuce

So, in the last few days I’ve had my ups and downs, had some stupid beats and made some stupid calls to knock my self down to just over even.

But today is a new day, won some on the cash table and took second in a sit and go, in about 30 min its time for my first freeroll on the site.

For those of you who have not played on Golden Arch its a pretty good site, I like the option to play four games in one window (although I need a bigger screen) and the fact that it tells you what you have so if your playing multiple tables it cuts down on your reaction time.

After Day One as a Sponsored Player…

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , on February 5, 2009 by 7deuce

Well, so far so good, Golden Arch deposited into my account (and never asked for any banking information or anything else that would signal a scam)

My first day of play was the opposite of my usual, I don’t usually play cash games, I am more of a Sit and Go Player, but my agreement says I have to play both at one time. My tourny places tonight were pretty crappy, my best of 5 was a third place finish, but my cash game was pretty good, took $50 and made it $170, so not a bad day.

I am required to put in 20 hours a week at the table, so lets see how it goes…

Sponsorship on Golden Arch Poker

Posted in Poker with tags , , , on February 3, 2009 by 7deuce

Well, as of today, 2/2/09 , I have been sponsered on Golden Arch Poker, they have deposited money in my account and according to the terms and agreements I am required to play at least to tables at a time and for a total of 20 hours a week during my evaluation period and I can keep any profit I make….

I almost sounds too good to be true, but when you add in the chance to be sponsored in Live Televised tournaments it sounds like a chance worth taking.

I will start playing there tomorrow and keep you updated on the progress…

A couple playing poker…..

Posted in Poker with tags , , , on September 16, 2008 by 7deuce

Two couples were playing cards one evening. John accidentally dropped some cards on the floor. When he bent down under the table to pick them up, he noticed that Bill’s wife Sue, legs spread wide, wasn’t wearing any underwear! Shocked by this, John upon trying to sit back up again, hit his head on the table and emerged red-faced.

Later, John went to the kitchen to get some refreshments. Bill’s wife followed and asked, “Did you see anything that you liked under there?” Surprised by her boldness, John courageously admitted that, well, indeed he did.

She said, “Well, you can have it but it will cost you $500.” After taking a minute or two to assess the financial as well as the moral costs of this offer, John indicates that he is indeed interested. She tells him that since her husband, Bill, works Friday afternoons and John doesn’t, that John should be at her house around 2.00 Friday afternoon.

When Friday rolled around, John showed up at Bill’s house for the planned time with Sue at 2:00 PM sharp and after paying her the agreed sum of $500, they went to the bedroom and closed their sexual transaction as Sue had promised.
Afterwards, John quickly dressed and left. As usual, Bill came home from work at 6:00 PM and upon entering the house, asked his wife abruptly, “Did John come by the house this afternoon?”

A little worried, Bill’s wife answered, “Why yes, he did stop by for a few minutes this afternoon.”

Her heart nearly stopped when her husband curtly asked,” And did he give you $500?”

In terror, she assumed that somehow he had found out, and after mustering up her best poker face, replied, “Well, yes, in fact he did give me $500.”

Bill, with a satisfied look on his face, surprised his wife by saying, “Good, I was hoping he did. John came by the office this morning and borrowed $500 from me. He promised me he’d stop by our house this afternoon on his way home and pay me back.”

My Money Finally arrived….

Posted in Poker with tags , , , , on September 9, 2008 by 7deuce

It took a while, but the withdrawal I requested from Full Tilt had arrived. I had to open an account with Ultra Prepaid (a phone card company) and then make a deposit onto Full Tilt. I then had to wait two weeks after I opened the account before I was allowed to make a withdrawal.

I made my first request on Aug 29th and received my money by bank wire on Sept 8th. The did however charge me $20 for the wire and then I also have to pay the bank their fee as well. Hopefully soon they will be able to do the same ACH transfers that the poker sites were using before, but in the mean time, It works.

I beg all of you to get involved and tell your Congressmen and Senators that Poker is not a crime and to pass intelligent legislation on the matter. Just think of all the money the country is loosing by not regulating the gaming here.

Well… Bank Transfer is now gone…

Posted in Poker with tags , , , on September 7, 2008 by 7deuce

I just checked Full Tilt today and now it seems that the Bank Transfer option for US players has been removed all together. For now, my only options are Bank Check (and the Forums are full of people talking about how they have been waiting 4-6 weeks for a check that wont go through) or Ultra Prepaid. I requested a Bank Wire from Ultra Prepaid on the 29th and have not received it yet, but then again they said it would take up to 15 days. I did notice that for at least 5-6 days I had the option to cancel the wire, which I suppose means that I was in que to have it done manually and could have canceled it. Let’s see how long it takes.

Still waiting for my money from Full Tilt

Posted in Poker with tags , , , , on September 3, 2008 by 7deuce

All right then, its been over three weeks since I started trying to get money out of my Full Tilt account. As of today, you still can not use the bank transfer option, so I signed up for an account with Ultra Prepaid. I had to wait two weeks before I was allowed to do a withdrawal on Ultra (and this is after you have to make a deposit to Full Tilt to tie your accounts together). So on August 29th I made my first withdrawal request.

Ultra seems to be having he same problems with Bank Transfers that Full Tilt and Poker Stars are having so, the only option for a withdrawal is a Bank Wire. They usually charge $45 for this, but right now they are waiving that fee. What gets me is they say it could take up to 15 days for the transfer to go through. My question is: “Why so long? What are you doing with my money in the mean time?” A wire transfer should take only minutes, hence the high fees.

I’ll keep you up to date on when (or if) I recieve my money, but in the mean time, keep telling the politicions that you want Online Poker made legal so we can stop with all the hassles.
